I am a Corporate Muse, that is, I have an innate intuitive ability to examine the myriad tangled issues of product and service marketing, detect and decipher the human factor, identify your key blocks and give you solid clues for your next move. My success rate is pretty close to 100% and I can consult full-time until the job is done or on an as-needed individual one-on-one basis with a team leader or executive.
Corporate Muse Services
I cannot list my past clients here as references as they enjoy the shelter of anonymity. I am sure the reasoning behind keeping their identities out of my own marketing is clear. But below I list, without any telling details, some of the types of services I've rendered for corporate clients in the past.
I have...
... named products, companies, etc.
... identified the promising products in a new line and helped revamp the "feel" of those that weren't selling.
... helped select product packaging and company logo designs for optimum consumer impact.
... sat-in on job interviews in order to give my impressions of interviewees for an important position that was proving difficult to fill.
... helped "re-wire" a company's main office so that the right people were doing the job they were best suited to.
... guided one executive to bring in computer "geeks" to train his office personnel to use newly installed computer software to its optimum potential. Efficiency and productivity bloomed as employees regained the confidence which had eroded after the software update. The savings from improved overall performance paid for the training and my services hundreds of times over!
... helped a VP keep his job by identifying the underlying cause of his department's efficiency issues. Quick tip: Has anyone updated or revised your office practices and policy manual in the last 3 years? Does your office even have one? Sometimes the answers you're looking for are as obscurely innocent-seeming as that!
... written and maintained the business plans for two start-up companies with last-say on the "sensibilities" of how the companies were to portray themselves to investors. One business plan raised over 2 million dollars in an SEC 501 Reg D stock sale, while a Dutch investment banker, who brought his clients on-board, commented, "This is by far the best business plan ever to land on my desk!"
... helped several middle managers with their professional self-esteem merely by taking them to the barber and habidashary! In these men's cases, they were too personally close to the issue to see the solution. Yet, after updating their "look" (which is not dissimilar to jump-starting slow sales by reinvigorating product appeal by way of updating packaging) these professional's productivity and efficiency ratings sky-rocketed immediately!

An Anecdote...
Once, I was consulting a company exec who became so impressed with my poignant insights and people sense that he came to rely on me quite heavily, even having me present during meetings with suppliers and customers alike, "posing" as his personal aide. I would listen to the exchanges between these businessmen and when something occurred to me that I thought would be helpful, I'd jot it down and subtley pass it to my client. We'll call him George. More than not, whatever input I had to make during these meetings, improved George's performance and helped his department save money and get its product line on the market pre-deadline! He was so pleased with my work that he began taking me with him on business trips.
On one such excursion, we had rented a car at the airport and were driving the last leg of our journey, following directions sent to us by our hosts. George's real PA sat in the front passenger's seat while George drove. I had the whole backseat to myself, so I decided to stretch out and take a nap. We'd been on the road for awhile and as we turned off the main thoroughfare onto the more confusing side streets of a city none of us had ever visited before, I awoke to hearing George asking his PA, "What does it say on the directions? I don't see anything like that here!" The PA panicked a bit, re-reading the pertinent part of the directions outloud. Before I could sit up and get involved in the search, the road came to a "T" and George anxiously blurted to his PA, "Wake Leanne up! I don't know where to go! She'll know which way to turn!"
I may be good, George, but I'm not THAT good!
